Crowd gathered at Ganga ghats on Buddha Purnima, people took a dip of faith


New Delhi. The festival of Buddha Purnima is being celebrated with great pomp across the country today. In Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, people are earning virtue by taking a holy dip of faith on the banks of Mother Ganga. Also, a large number of people have reached Ayodhya Dham to have darshan of Lord Ramlala.

A procession has been organized on the occasion of Buddha Purnima in Gaya, Bihar. On this occasion, a huge crowd of devotees and followers of Buddhism has gathered at the Mulgandh Kuti Vihar temple of Sarnath in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Devotees have offered prayers at Saryu Ghat in Ayodhya. Also, a large number of devotees have reached the Ram temple for darshan.

In Prayagraj, devotees took a holy dip in the Sangam. In Varanasi too, people took a holy bath in Maa Ganga. Apart from this, a huge crowd of devotees was seen in Haridwar in Uttarakhand. In Haridwar, devotees took a holy dip in the Ganga. ‘Jai Prasanna Hanuman’ recitation has been organized in Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya Dham.

It is believed that Lord Vishnu descended on earth in the form of Buddha on the day of Buddha Purnima. Lord Buddha gave a new direction to society by gaining knowledge. Today people worship Lord Buddha with the desire to gain knowledge from him. According to Sanatan Dharma, bathing in the Ganges on Buddha Purnima has special significance. A large number of devotees come to Haridwar on Purnima bath. Baisakh Purnima is celebrated as Buddha Purnima. Donation has special significance on this day. Mother Ganga fulfills everyone’s wishes.
