The plan aims to enhance athletes’ performance and success chances.

Neeraj Chopra’s preparations for the Paris Olympics

Neeraj Chopra, who created history by becoming the first Indian to win a track and field medal at the Olympics in Tokyo three years ago, will be training at different venues in Europe from May 29 to July 28. He will be accompanied by his coach Klaus Bartonietz and physiotherapist Ishaan Marwaha.

The Ministry’s Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) has agreed to cover the expenses related to airfare, accommodation, meals, medical insurance, local transport, and out-of-pocket allowances under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS).

The objective of this training plan is to provide the necessary support and resources to enhance their performance and increase their chances of success at the highest level. The reigning Olympic and world champion in javelin throw will undergo a 60-day training stint in Europe.

Long jumper Shaili Singh’s proposal to extend her training camp in Europe until June 23 has also been approved. She will train in Lisbon, Paris, Athens, and Geneva alongside coach Bobby George. The MOC has also granted requests from shotgun shooters Rajeshwari Kumari and Maheshwari Chauhan to take their personal coaches to the training camp in Italy in June.
