Visiting the Sunflower Fields at Farm&Co Cudgen

Farm&Co is a beautiful place to visit in Cudgen on the Tweed Shire. It is a stunning family-owned farm that welcomes visitors to explore its grounds, visit and feed their animals, pick sunflowers and enjoy their fresh, organic produce. Our highlight was seeing the rescue pigs, Hank and Pepe and strolling through the stunning sunflower fields in the winter sunshine.

We visited in July whilst staying at nearby Hastings Point. Our week was a mixed bag when it came to the weather and the day we had planned to visit Farm&Co was one of the most beautiful of our trip! We had beautiful winter sunshine which allowed us to take our time and soak in the scenery, the farm and the experience (as well as lots of rays of sunshine)! The Farm walks were $7 per adult and our kids were free as they are still little.

The girls absolutely LOVED visiting the rescue pigs, Hank and Pepe. These pigs are vegan and are honestly living their ultimate best lives on the farm. They had an endless supply of food and were loving wallowing in the mud. The free range chickens were also loud and happy, also enjoying the farm life and their freedom!

The farm had some of the healthiest looking organic produce, and it was really cool to wander around and see all the foods they were growing. The farm is framed by rows and rows of enormous macadamia trees and you can crack some macadamia nuts whilst exploring the macadamia orchards. It doesn’t get much more natural than that!

Another highlight (other than the pigs) was wandering around and through the beautiful sunflower fields. I absolutely LOVE sunflowers, I’m not sure what it is but always make me smile! I’ve never visited anywhere at the right time or season to see fields in bloom before so this was really special! You can cut your own sunflowers to take home with you as well ($4 a stem), we didn’t on this occasion as it was near the end of our trip but next time I would love to!

The Farm Store on site is also stocked with incredible, organic produce from the farm or local suppliers. We stopped in at the on site Cafe for coffee and freshly baked pastries after exploring the farm and it topped off a great morning.

Farm&Co is a great family-friendly activity and one we would recommend if you are visiting the Tweed region. We loved our stay at nearby North Star Holiday Resort at Hastings Point. There is so much to do in this beautiful part of Australia and we highly recommend also checking our nearby Tropical Fruit World.

In addition, there are activities such as learning to surf on the Gold Coast or booking a Gold Coast fishing expedition, depending on what sort of adventures you like doing when you’re on holidays! There are endless fun and activities to be had in the Tweed and Gold Coast regions, especially if you love the water!
