Here Are The Indian-Born Players Who Will Be Seen Donning The USA Jersey At The T20 World Cup 2024


The US national cricket team has created history by defeating Pakistan a giant of the sport in their first-ever World Cup participation. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 has gone off in a rather surprising fashion with the USA emerging as the dark horse.USA’s team is captained by a player of Indian origin Monank Patel and he is not the only player who has his roots in India.

Let’s take a closer look at the Indian-origin players who are representing the USA in this exciting event:

Monank Patel (Captain):

Born in Anand, Gujarat, Monank Patel comes from a business family. He migrated to the USA and has been playing professional cricket for the country since 2018. Monank is a top-order batter who also keeps wickets. He previously played U16 and U18 cricket for Gujarat.

Harmeet Singh:

Harmeet Singh, a bowling all-rounder, was born in Mumbai. He started his career in Indian domestic cricket, representing Mumbai and Tripura. Harmeet even played an IPL match for the Rajasthan Royals in 2013. In 2021, he moved to the USA and secured a place in the national team.

Milind Kumar:

Milind Kumar, born in Delhi in 1991, played domestic cricket for Delhi and Sikkim. He also featured in the IPL for Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore as a local player. In 2021, he retired from Indian cricket and joined the USA team. Milind has experience in Major League Cricket and will now participate in The T20 World Cup.

Saurabh Netravalkar:

Saurabh Netravalkar is an Indian-born American cricketer who has captained the United States team. He is a left-arm medium-fast bowler and represented the India under-19 team. Netravalkar made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy. He later moved to the United States, where he played for the national cricket team. Notably, during the USA’s win over Pakistan, he bowled a super over to help secure victory. Nisarg Patel:

Nisarg Patel, a spin-bowling all-rounder, hails from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He will be part of the USA squad for the T20 World Cup. Nisarg’s journey includes playing club cricket in the USA after moving from India.
