Former Indian Cricketer Believes Sanju Samson Will be a Much Better Option in the Indian Middle Order Instead of Shivam Dube

The ongoing T20 World Cup has sparked discussions about India’s team composition, particularly the middle-order batting slots. Former Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth has weighed in, suggesting that Sanju Samson could be a valuable addition to the middle order, potentially replacing Shivam Dube. Let’s explore the arguments for and against this proposition.

Sreesanth believes that Samson’s ability to adapt to different situations makes him an attractive option. If Dube isn’t contributing with the ball, Samson could step in and provide stability.

Samson has shown the capacity to change gears, playing both anchor roles and explosive finishes—a crucial trait in T20 cricket. As a batter, Samson is considered more technically sound than Dube. His solid technique could be advantageous, especially in challenging conditions.

In tricky situations, Samson could play the sheet anchor role, steadying the ship while allowing aggressive players like Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja to flourish.

Sreesanth opens Up on Shivam Dube and Sanju Samson

“We know he can be in the middle order instead of (Shivam) Dube. If Dube is not rotating his arms or if he’s not bowling, I think that will be a brilliant option because he always adapts to the situations and he can change his gear.” Sreesanth stated.

Shivam Dube’s spin-hitting prowess could be valuable, especially in Caribbean conditions where slow bowlers play a significant role. His recent contribution of an unbeaten 31* against the USA showcased his ability to finish games. The team management may prefer sticking with Dube for now, considering his recent form and utility as a left-hander.

While Sreesanth’s suggestion is intriguing, the team’s decision ultimately rests on a delicate balance between experience, form, and tactical considerations. As India progresses in the tournament, the middle-order puzzle will continue to evolve. Whether it’s Samson or Dube, the Men in Blue aim to find the winning formula.
