Gill to Lead, Sanju to Keep Wickets

India named a 15-member squad for the upcoming series in Zimbabwe. The tour includes 5 T20I matches, with the first one being played at Harare Sports Club Stadium on July 6.

Gill is appointed as the captain despite failing to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2024. Yashasvi Jaiswal is also included in the squad, which is expected to open with the captain. Samson, who was terrific in IPL 2024, will keep the wickets, while Dhruv Jurel is added as a backup keeper.

Abhishek, Sharma, Nitish Rana, and Riyan Parag will also have a chance to debut for the Blues based on their wonderful performances in the IPL.

Washington Sundar is the sole all-rounder in the squad, while Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, and Tushar Deshpande will be there to strengthen India’s bowling attack.
