England went into this tournament as one of the two top favourites to win it all alongside France. The absolute wealth of talent in this team is second to none as several players in the England squad were in fantastic form last season.
Despite that, this team has yet to match their performance with their talents. One of the most underwhelming ‘big’ teams in this tournament so far, England might be the group topper with the least points in this competition.

But the most embarrassing performance by this team was the 0-0 draw against Slovenia, a result that ensured them topping their group but a disappointing scoreline nonetheless. A team that is the favourite to win the competition should not play a draw and fail to score against a side like Slovenia.
There are a lot of issues with this England side, from pushing Phil Foden to the left flank to make space for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the midfield, to their inability to be quick in the attack thus giving their opposition to settle into their defensive structure.
