Archana Kamath/Manav Thakkar beat compatriots Ayhika/Snehit 3-1 in the opening round of Mixed Doubles at WTT Contender Tunis


In an exciting clash at the WTT Contender Tunis, Archana Kamath and Manav Thakkar showcased their prowess in mixed doubles table tennis. Facing fellow Indians Ayhika Mukherjee and Snehit Suravajjula, the duo secured a convincing 3-1 victory (11-6, 10-12, 11-6, 11-6) in the opening round.

Recently, in a thrilling showdown at the WTT Contender Lagos 2024, India’s Sreeja Akula and Archana Kamath triumphed in the women’s doubles event. The Indian duo secured the title with a commanding 3-0 victory over fellow compatriots Diya Chitale and Yashaswini Ghorpade 11-9, 11-6, 12-10.

Sreeja and Archana’s path to the title was marked by a series of impressive performances. In the semifinals, they faced the Asian Games bronze medallists Ayhika Mukherjee and Sutirtha Mukherjee. The Indian pair showcased their prowess, winning the match decisively with scores of 11-7, 11-5, 12-10. Their dominance in the semifinal set the stage for an all-Indian final against Diya and Yashaswini.
